There's at least one point in the soundtrack to
Phantom of the Paradise where they run the entire mix through a phaser.
What pedal/device would you wanna run your entire mix through?
For me it might be a Mu-Tron Bi-Phase. (

Boss Bf2, SS/BS Fuck, spring reverb but preferably with a shitty solid state preamp, bit crusher in the right setting

Like most everybody has said, I've done it with a bitcrusher slowly sweeping manually on mixes that I hated in the past. Made them somewhat passable.

I have definitely run entire mixes through the filter on the Sequential Pro-One and a Sherman Filterbank...
