Losing friends at a young age really sucks.
I'm no where near CT but if you end up needing to get a hotel and your funds are tight,
I'd be willing to pitch in a few bucks. I'm sure there are more ILFers that would do the same.

I wish I could offer up my house but its tiny as hell, we live just over an hour from Fairfield. Wish I could help out with a place to crash but would help fund a place for you as well.
