who is a huge nerd about cyberpunk books?

there's a novel i'm trying to remember the name of, protagonist is a drug designer for people who want tailored hallucinations, all areas in the complex where he lives (maybe an abondoned mall?) are minor fiefdoms, and his ex gf that helps him travel to the top level has prosthetic legs she swaps out for different uses.

I was thinking it sounds like whoever wrote the story in question had probably read A Scanner Darkly sometime before.

The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch is my favorite PKD book (and I think one of his best written). Ubik is up there too.

Diamond Age? I haven't read that in so long but I remember cybernetic legs.

Zodiac was awesome too.

nurp. not Diamond Age. havna read the Baroque Cycle, but all of his that i have read i sortsa got committed to memory.

thinnnnnking about it more, this book, the main protagonist works designing drugs that put people into specific time period recreations of historic figures, either fighting through different wars or other epic actions. and his main client is a foppish upper class spoiled brat that has a mental hardon for..... Chaucer i think? and always pays him for different Chaucer-centric trips?
