Hey all. Anyone have experience of this head? Most reviews approve of the tone but was wondering what the real volume of it was? Good for gigs? Cheers

I have experience with it and love it...the dirty side can do most things and the clean is real nice too...the bonus is that it takes pedals really well.
The only thing i cant comment on is the giging side...not taken it out, but there are few other guys here that will answer that.

I like mine. It pushes some serious air. I've haven't gigged with it, but I have done a few rehearsals with it. I don't see there being any issues with gigging. It sounds really good, in my opinion the best sounding amp you can pick up new for around 300 bucks. If you closed your eyes you wouldn't think it was solid state but it doesn't necessarily sound tube. The clean channel breaks up when you increase the channel volume. Hit it with a boost and you have pretty thick overdrive. I mostly use the clean channel & pedals. The dirty channel is nice and can pull off some doom tones, but it's a bit too modern for my taste. I don't have any qualms with the amp. Overall I'm extremely satisfied and it has treated me well as an inexpensive amp that I can take out and still sound great

Get an OR15, I have one and it really slays.
If you are looking for higher watts. Just save up an extra hundred dollars and get you can find a Marshall JCM2000 used for the same price.

Out of interest, have you gigged the OR15? I have an IRT Studio which sounds damn loud cranked at home but not convinced 15w will be enough in a venue?

I haven't gigged with it, but I play it out of an Orange 2x12 with Vintage 30s and its pretty loud. I normally don't put it above 9 o clock.
What size places do you normally play? Do you mic your gear?

Only just started gigging so small venues but should usually be mic'd. Need to get it to rehearsal room!

People are really quick to write this amp off. It doesn't have t00bz, but that's $$ you don't have to spend to keep it runnng. I've played an OR15 and DSL100 through my Orange 4x12 extensively. The OR does not push near as much air as the CR does, not even close. I got my CR120h brand new for $300, the OR15 is twice the price. The DSL100 doesn't even sound as good as the CR...why waste the money for an older, inferior amp just so you can say you have tubes in your amp?

I've gigged with it. It moves the air. It makes with the loud and the smiles as you play. Get one and be thrilled. I got one when they immediately came out and it's greatness. Only thing I can knock against it is... it doesn't like being in the chain with my Ampeg SS's I like running multiple rigs at once and I have a 5 way switch, it just doesn't like working with the Ampegs, other amps are fine. so I have no idea what it's racist against their Vowel named breathen.

I picked up a Peavey Mark iii for super cheap that an amp tech is cleaning the pots tonight. If the peavey doesn't scratch my amp needs I intend on getting the CR120. I've spent longer than I meant to in the store on it and really dig it. That isn't at gigging volume. The local scene here is weird, not a single venue for anything except blues and jazz. No one is getting mic'ed except vocals since it is 100% house shows. Seems like a great option for what I'm doing.

Those are the best shows. most of the shows I've played in my life are mic only for vocals. or vocals and kick.

Thanks all, help is appreciated! Its always easy to test an amp in store but it is use in the real world that is always harder to check!
