Thought this was kinda cool.
Sexy even.
Not sold on the active pickups.

I just hate that banner on the 12th fret. Its the only reason i dont absolutely love the new sg basses.

Damn fine looking guitar though. Can't you just drop some passive pickups in there?

You could, but at 2K, it makes me meh about doing so.
Yeah, those banners are also not so handsome.
I can forgive the gold hardware even ,which takes a lot, because I fucking hate gold.
Bound fretboard is nice though. And alpine white is badass.

These are all valid arguments.
But,

Alpine White RD.

Equals boner.

Iunno, just another mark Gibson didn't quite hit.

Yeah that is really all I got to defend it at this point.
So, zero valid arguments fom me, basically.
It'd probably be worth it with some hot passives and chrome hardware, pearl tuners, standard trap MOP inlays.

I don't hate actives but I just have serious doubts about Gibson getting them right.

yeah.. knowing them they'd try to make a iPhone be the preamp and make a dock for it so that it made the thing always in the way...

Yeah, then the only app compatible would be to auto tune the already auto tuning robot tuners or some shit.
Just stick to wood and magnets, guys.

I also think that RD guitars look weird. The body shape looks much better with a longer bass neck on it to me :idk:

Yeah RD basses are sexy as hell.
But I do dig em in guit form.
It's similar to how thunderbirds look a little more basses than firebirds.

Haha! That's cool.
I remember growing up watching nirvana and wondering what the hell Chris was playing.
I didn't find out what it was until only a few years ago.

Needs 25.5" scale length like the original. And nickel hardware. And passive pickups. And lower price tag.

Love the fancy Custom-style details on the Artist model though.

Yeah man, for that price there's a few details letting it down.
Nickel would look badass.
More scale is best scale.
