I quit playing guitar some time ago because for the love of my ears. I thought tinnitus would get better or disappear if I didn't fuzzzz my days away, but turns away it didn't do much help really.

Is it ok to play fuzz guitar when u've got tinnitus, or is there any way for it to go away? My ears ring like a mofo, I can always hear a 'dip' in my hearing range after playing guitar but...

Get earplugs.

I think you can get earplugs that go up to attenuation ratings close to -33dB. Should be able to play at some relatively high volumes with that.

Yup, earplugs. It's probably not gonna get much better but earplugs will mitigate it getting significantly worse.

I wear -33dB at work and they're great. If you already have ringing in your ears though it won't help that any. I've got some pretty bad ringing in my ears from working underground before ear plugs and OH&S was so stringent. Wearing a good set of -33dB when you play guitar, go to a gig or use heavy machinery will stop it getting any worse but it's not going to fix any damage already done.

Technically speaking there is no cure for tinnitus, you can go to a doctor and have your ears cleaned out and that will help the ringing. A friend of mine has tinnitus and that is what he does.

What the fuuuuuuuuuuuuggggg........ I just recently stopped drinking coffee (like some weeks ago) and that my tinnitus has gotten a lot worse. That study is for women, may it apply for men too?
