America...fuck yea

So I thought of an interesting topic. Well interesting to me. A comedian I follow on Youtube Dom Mazzetti (broscience.com), posted a picture on the 4th and fucking pissed off a ton of people in England that follow him. I laughed my ass off about it because, well it's funny and I like offensive humor. IE South Park, Family Guy, things of that nature.

I just wanted to know how others took this type of thing. I'm white and from the United States, so it's different for me because my race isn't constantly being slandered openly, so I feel like a dick sometimes laughing. What are your thoughts? Is this racist? Or just funny???

Please note, I'm not trying to start any kind of shit, I'm genuinely curious how others feel.

It's making fun of America more than anything. I'm on board.

Yeah I'm hoping it was just poking fun at our country's blind, parasitic, nationalism. Don't even get me started on how much I hate the 4th of July... :grumpy:

That is actually a pretty well thought out picture. Sorry if I am being obvious here, but that move those American guys are doing is called the "Eiffel Tower". And since France helped America win the war, I declare this to be a very well done piece. I don't find it particularly funny for my liking though, as I prefer different kinds of humor more.

I don't find it funny, but depressing. Because it's a pretty accurate depiction of Americans and that makes me sad.

The thing I find ironic is that they are performing a classic example of the Eiffel Tower bedroom position.

But speaking of which, Dom Mazzetti is comic gold haha. My dad shows me a skit from him almost every time I'm home.

Ok. I have to post a video of Dom's just so you know what type of humor he has. I think this was meant to be a total joke, be it offense or not, but a joke non the less.

I get what others are saying though. That's why I was curious what you guys think. I feel bad laughing, but at the same time, I can't help myself.

So here's one of his videos

I've seen enough potshots from the English that I know over the years this is par for the course.

Especially when it's amped up by the power of the Internets.

But I bet you love the World Cup.

I've never really been super depressed about 'Murica etc. because I have easy and accessible options to relocate permanently if I ever felt it was necessary. Being a shitty person isn't confined to a particular nationality, after all, so its just as likely that moving somewhere else would create many of the same problems. Fewer guns, maybe, but less space to crank amps.

I still say that what people say the problems with guns is, is more a problem of motivation. I could kill someone with a hammer just as easily as with a gun. Sweden mandates a weapon in every home for their defense forces and reserves. These are military grade firearms,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politi ... witzerland
Quick check on murder rates finds this
Firearm related deaths.
Sweden Ranked 26th. 9,369
USA Ranked 4th. 162 times more than Sweden

So what the fuck is going on here. Why are we creating people who want to destroy Americans? We have issues. I don't think removing the tools will fix those issues. I do think there needs to be a dialogue shift towards finding those underlying issues. Why do Americans want to kill?

We glamorize and make shooters famous, first and foremost (if we're talking about the mass shooting nutcases).

We disarm the law-abiding in places where those wackos pick to target, so they know they're not going to face any opposition.

For criminal-related stuff, drug war, drug war, drug war. And the underlying lack of opportunity (or any ability to discuss the simple fact that a nation that can elect a black man as president should be able to talk about why it's young black men shooting each other in urban ghettos en masse) for the underclass - or any attempt to change the dialogue from victimization to empowerment.
