I haven't seen a movie thread around here. Maybe I overlooked it. If so, feel free to redirect me. If not, welcome to I Love Film, the unofficial movie thread! What are you watching? What are your favorite movies ever? New movies you're excited about? Let's see those trailers! Tired of zombies yet? Tell us about it!

My favorite movie ever, of all time, is the original Alien. To me, it is perfect in every way. I like the rest, too (even Joss Whedon's Firefly: Alien Edition) but nothing will top the original. I even have a soft spot for the terrible AVP movies, and thoroughly enjoyed Prometheus, despite its many plot holes.

Other favorites include The Shining, Blade Runner, Leon, 2001, and I can't remember the rest right now.

Saw World War Z last night. It was actually pretty good. Zombies were interesting and creepy. Lots of big epic set pieces. Good stuff.

Godzilla was OK. Fun monster movie. Not as good as Cloverfield, sorry.

Tonight, I will be watching Escape From Tomorrow, which as far as I can tell is about a man losing his mind at Disneyland.

Primer.
You all need to see Primer, ASAP.
Apparently, it's on youtube so you have no excuse:

Also the title is accurate, expect to watch it at least twice, probably in a row.

Escape From Tomorrow was fuckin weird.

Primer seemed cool. I never saw it. Time travel? Time travel is fun. Theres a time travel movie coming out with Agent Skully and chubby little Haley Joel Osment.

Oh and Interstellar looks amazing.

Interstellar does look amazing.
And Primer is one of my favourite movies. Time travel, not dumbed down at all, insanely complex. I guess it's kind of made for the nerdy, physicist type....so me :idk:

I'm pumped for Interstellar too. I like the effect they're using for "warp" in the trailer... it's not some cheesy/flashy star trek bullshit

I like your new Mononoke gif, Puddins.

My Ghibli vote is always for Nausicaa and Laputa.

My Tarantino vote is always with Resevour Dogs.

Pi is insanely good.

Mad Max (the original, not the second one Americans think is the first).
Romper Stomper (Russell Crowe, not being shit).
Bad Boy Bubby.
Wolf Creek.
Chopper (Eric Bana at his fucking finest).
Road Games.
And a bunch of Australian cinema from the 70s and early 90s.

From NZ, you have to see Once Were Warriors. It is fucking compulsory.

Evil Dead is like me favorite film of all time.
Bruce Campbell is god.
