Would I be an asshole...

If I asked about the $90 ($100 to $189.99) price increase on the new Brown LP? It is even thirty dollars more than the similar two knob- one flipswitch soda meiser. From what I understand of the previous Electric Brown and LP... it is really difficult for an old devi hat like myself to find an explanation to spend that much on it.
Better quality parts? Extra Aen love?
Just curious, its really cool to see you guys breath new life into some of my favorite pedals! I realize I am one of many, and it is my previous experience and perception of devi peds that lead me to ask this question. I hope you understand.

Not an asshole at all. First, the $189.99 is NOT MAP. MAP is so so much less than that shit. Did you see that price at Prymaxe?
It should be $125, dudes.
Prymaxe has bumped the prices up from MAP on pretty much all of our stuff (including the Soda Meiser). Not at all sure why yet. But rest assured that isn't our price bump.
Rogue Guitars, Perfect Circuit, Eclipse, and a slew of other dealers will have it cheaper, even with the Prymaxe discount.

Interesting.
I was gonna take a stab at this, but didn't wanna speculate.
I'm sure the old Devi Ever FX business model is also much different than the new Devi Ever FX business model.

I am interested in what you think has changed? We have changed a few things to try to speed up production, for sure.
And we are probably more "dealer friendly" than Devi was, since we aren't selling direct much.
But their price bump is just ridiculous.

Phew, That is a relief! Totally down for that price. I'll have to check out those retailers. I was looking at Prymaxe because thats the only place I saw the new devis popping up.

Well, for one thing, I think Devi was underpricing her pedals. I know it was part of the whole Devi thing, but she could've charged a little bit more for 'em and I don't think anyone would've really complained. She definitely was able to keep her prices lower by selling them direct though.
She also seemed to have a shotgun approach to getting her pedals out there in sheer number of offerings. You guys are, by necessity in terms of production, narrowing the field a bit. Your way is probably more sustainable in the long run.
I agree that the Prymaxe price bump is ridiculous. Do you think there's a political motive for that?

Yeah, that is all true. We are trying not to increase the price too much, but the profit margin on some of these is really slim. That is part of the reason for the production changes. Hopefully we can make up for the low prices with increased sales. If that doesn't work, we may have to bump prices a bit next year.
As far as Prymaxe goes, I have no idea why they would do that. It makes us look TERRIBLE, though, so we will see what we can do about it.

Also, lots of our dealers are truly rad and if you emailed or called them and requested something, they will usually stock it.

I'm curious to see how this Prymaxe pricing pans out. I'm also wondering what's up with that huge price bump.
I hope it gets resolved to your satisfaction.

Looks like it may have just been a mistake. Hopefully it will be fixed quickly. Let us know if you guys find something different before we do.

Nice. Some Dwarfcraft/Devi Ever combos are definitely in the works. The ECT/Brown combo and maybe a Dark Boost/The Great Destroyer combo pedal.
We'll see how far we can get this fall.

Oh god. Dark Destroyer. The pedals I want the most from both companies. Do this. For the children.

To be fair though, I wouldn't pay more than what Devi charged for her pedals. Most of them contained not more than a handful of parts, the schematics for plenty of them were just variations on a theme, they were built haphazardly, and they weren't necessarily user friendly - in that the control set was always so limited.
But I think they were rad for what they were and they were a great fuck you to the boutique thing, and they were getting more wacky fuzz into people's hands, which is always a good thing.
As for Devicraft, I like the fact that they are thinning the herd a bit, bringing building up to Dwarf standards, rationalising things a bit... I'm prepared to pay a bit more for that, but it should still be an order of magnitude less than the Dwarf stuff.
Which is all a long way of saying I think Devicraft is doing stuff right
