NGD LPB Jazzmaster

My new guitar arrived yesterday, I won it on eBay last Monday. It's a CIJ 1997-2001 Lake Placid Blue Jazzmaster. Having never seen a Lake Placid Blue guitar in person, I decided to take a punt based on how it looked in the photos and knowing that generally Fender metallics are pretty difficult to photograph. I was definitely not disappointed, the finish totally exceeded my expectations. It arrived perfectly set up and the previous owner had replaced the Japanese pickups with SD antiquity IIs and installed a mustang bridge on it so all the hard work was done for me. Anyway here's some photos I took of it today:
And here it is with the rest of the family:
I'm considering changing out the pickguard, at the moment it looks like it has a mint one on it. I was considering getting a red tort one but I'm open to suggestions.

Gorgeous. I wouldn't change the guard on it, I don't think red tort would look very good with the LPB. I tend to prefer mint guards on all but sunburst and white offsets.
Lovely trio you have there!

LPB ? Go all black. Black guard, black pup covers and all.
Also, sexy guitar trio.

That is an incredible looking finish...and the matching headstock somehow makes it 100% better. Congrats.

I'm pretty sure it's LPB, looks quite a bit bluer in lower light but I agree that it does have an Ocean Turquoise quality to it. I think it's probably from the clear coat yellowing a bit giving it a slight green tinge and the mint guard bringing out a bit more of the green as well.

That's a beautiful family!
I like the pickguard the way it is, but I hardly ever find tort that appealing. That red+tort jag, though, is one such rare exception!

Dayumn son...That's one hot jazzmaster.
A japanese jm in that finish is sort of a rare find, at least in this part of the world. I'd trade in my sunburst jazzy in a heartbeat for one of those...
