I....just don't know how to feel about it quite yet. It's like the anticipation and skepticism are cancelling each other out.
Obvious first gripe is that it should be on HBO, because so much of the swearing that made the dialogue so natural will be lost.
I hope they're able to translate the crude lowbrow humor without sacrificing too much. The comical side deserves just as much care as the serious.
They better get somebody really fucking good to play the Saint of Killers. No Danny Trejo please.

HBO's been swinging and missing a lot on of shows recently, though. Outside of Masters of Sex and (I hear) Game of Thrones there isn't a lot of great "premium content" from them.
AMC, meanwhile, is desperate to keep the Mad Men/Walking Dead ball rolling. I'd be surprised if they didn't let Goldberg and Rogan get away with a lot.

I've been watching that and
Walking Dead. There's no comparison.
Walking Dead is like a chicken with its head cut off.
It's not really always so much the network (although, that's certainly part of it), it's the people who have creative control of a show.

I haven't watched True detective yet, just saying that AMC might give them more leeway because of the success of Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and TWD(which I agree is lacking)

TWD is a show I watch every Sunday night it premiers. But it's no Madmen or Breaking Bad. With Madmen going to its final season, AMC is running a pretty slim roster of really good programming. The new arm-wrestling show won't cut it.

So they're planning on destroying one of the greatest comic series written. I was fine with the Walking Dead because that shit started sucking when I realized Rick would never die. UGH. I fucking HATE the show. HATE IT! It's not even close to the comics, which I stopped reading because the story went to shit.

i liked the first season mostly. as soon as they got the go-ahead to do more seasons i felt like it just started rambling and i instantly lost interest

Only Walking Dead comix I ever read was the first issue. Did they get substantially better?
