Guitar Nuts

Got a Jazzmaster, and i think the nut has shit the bed. It's worn out and buzzes now. I use thicker gauge strings, 56-12, so i think it wore the groove down to the edge. Are bone nuts installed by a luthier still the best way to go?

What about the fender LSR nuts?

For me, bone nuts are the way to go. Never used the Fender ones.

I've gone 100% to brass. more durable, more resonant. how many bone cymbals or bells have you ever seen? It's the only material thats ever made a huge noticeable difference in the sound. Of course, once you are fretting up the neck it is lessened a bit, but I won't probably ever go back to bone or synthetic nuts.

Why, Mudfuzz, is it that easy for you to bust a nut?
