I need a new TV or projector in my house. I plan to use it for maybe computer gaming but deffo for movie watching and console gaming. Was wondering if any of you guys were into video GEAR too. I don't want to spend a ton of money but I am aware that usually you get what you pay for, so I'll keep an open mind. I don't plan on spending a TON of time in front of it but when I am I want to enjoy it you know? that's what good gear is kind of like.
I'm leaning towards a projector right now, just wondering if you guys had any input

if your computer has an HDMI out, most HD tv's have an HDMI in. that's what I used to do to watch netflix and videos on my tv off my laptop.

I have looked into projectors myself and got to the conclusion that a nice TV is better. Those HD projectors are pretty expensive and apparently they burn out pretty fast, and a new bulb can cost you up to 400-600$. That was a few years ago, tho... so maybe they've gotten better.

Just got this one, great picture, feels/looks solidly built, no frills, none of that redundant smart tv shit

Gaming, Netflix, Blu Ray all on ps3. Then connect my laptop for YouTube, illegal streaming and what have you

I'm no video nut but I work in a psychiatric clinic and for our movie group we got a sick grant a couple of years ago and I bought an HD projector, LG I think. It's actually pretty badass and the quality is great. I run movies off a USB key at "720" most of the time (whatever the 1+ GB one I torrent, I'm sure that's not actually "720" but whatever) and it looks great. It's also survived a lot of wear and tear from being set up and put away every week and I am impressed by it's durability...
I think it was like 2k? It wasn't cheap, that's for sure....
