EBS flat cables = possible awesomeness

Needed some new cables for my home board and was after the cheapest right angled cables I could find and they had these for 25kr each... Dunno, 4 bucks I guess?

They are super awesome! Considering redoing my gig board and ditching the ones I've soldered with GLS pancakes. These are just so space efficient, and the flat cable design is odd but kinda great.

Dunno how they'll hold up as compared to my own cables, haven't pulled one apart to check the construction. I can't really see what can go wrong - no screws that can loosen like on hosas, no progressively worse grounding like on lavas and George Ls. Probably can't fix em if they fail but whatever.

They've only just come out here (and EBS is Swedish) but I'm guessing they'll see a wide release soon.

They're flat like a ribbon. I guess halfway between linguine and fettuccine in the width, and not much thicker either. They feel quite solid though.

An interesting description but seeming accurately. It'll be interesting to see if these hit a wide release and if they do well.

I'll leave the obvious joke for somebody else.

If they stay that cheap I'll definitely be keeping them in mind next time I need patch cables. Pancake cables are nice, but the thinner the better for my mini board.

How well do they work for going from a side jack to a top jack? Seems like they might be a bit tough with the twist.

Will post some photos when I get home. Side --> top is not as elegant as side-->side or top-->top but it works pretty well.

had to mess with the curves to make up for the shoddy lighting, but at least you can see the way the cable twists here

It looks more brutal than it is, but I'm guessing the cable inside would have to be circular, so I can't imagine it's putting any strain on the copper wire as such.

Remind me a bit of some Roland cable I had in the past (a long time ago).

Alrighty! I'll have to get some, I have hard to fitting the pedals in my board and they do seem to spare a little room with the smaller plugs. You don't thing they come in pesto color?

Gues you'll have to spray paint them!
