boop boop.

heyyyyyyy so i'm going to try a laptop for a keys/sampler thingy for live shtuff instead of an ipad. i just spent the weekend playing with all the Komplete stuff i've barely used and man. it just. it just sounds SO MUCH BETTER. and there's so much easier shtuff to do.

i'm REALLY trying to stay with lighter processor stuff though, quicker loading and easier more reliable loads. so want to stay away from sample based stuff, even though Kontakt is AMAZE-BALLZ.

any good non sample based keys vst's out there? again, it's for playing live. would use Komplete for recordings. so damn good sounding is awesome, but doesn't have to be sample perfect.

murrrrrrrr?

confused. "recorded in a large studio". i think the engine it's referring to is more of a presets/parameter sculpting environment, while the keys themselves are still sample-based

wave-guide and karplus strong (i.e. reverb with noise and delay with noise) are pretty cool for those types of sounds

this is a very basic freeware version of truepianos, before he went on to develop the main program:
http://www.yohng.com/software/piano.html

its super small and light on resources, good for sketching and playing through other processing

yeah. i've got all the other shtuff covered with the engine based Komplete stuff (Massive etc), but their piano is sample based, i've used it live and it's not the most reliable.

as in additive synthesis?

naw, BUT it can use a fourier transform to model a sample so i guess in that way it's a sampler. but not really tho.
