My neighbors may not get any sleep after I get home from working the bar tonight.

Sweet! I got to briefly mess with one of these when I was buying a cab the other day, sounded killer!

Good to hear. I have always heard good things but have yet to play one. From what I heard this should pair nicely with my Plexi.

Yeah ebay is no joke about cheap Peaveys. That's where I got my Rockmaster when I had it. Most solid amp ever, and possibly one of the loudest I've come across. Jeebus it was awesome

Yeah I have seen some pretty awesome prices on used Peaveys. Even 5150s I have seen go for some reasonable prices. I have wanted a VTM for a while and when I saw the buy it now price of this bad boy I had to take the leap.

killer amps. if you're not happy with the sound, try some different tubes. very responsive to tube choices, those things. have fun.

for straight amp gain that thing rules so hard.

It has JJs in the power section and it sounds fucking awesome. I may swap out the peavey pre amp tubes for some tung sol when I get the extra funds to drop on some more pre amp tubes. But it souns fucking killer regardless. Super pumped on this purchase.

My only gripe with the VTMs (and then the Butcher) is just how fucking heavy they are. The fucking MDF headshell is just abnormally thick. It's heavy as fucking fuck. Moving it around is like a DOOM ROOM WORKOUT.

I really want to put mine in a new headshell. They have the same chassis size as the 5150/6505 but I haven't had any luck finding an empty one.

All Peaveys weigh like a thousand pounds, my XXX 2x12 combo weighs as much as car and the old Peavey Stereo Chorus amps wigh as much as a house
