To answer the question, I'm not a Buddhist, but I do meditate from time to time. I really like the notion of the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Noble Path, too.Thing is, I can't imagine one espousing the premise of "desire is the root of all suffering" while being on a gear forum. Good thing I'm a Taoist

I recently read "Awakening The Buddha Within" because I work all the fucking time at a stressful job and felt like I was about to to fucking blow, and while it was really interesting and I can appreciate it from as philosophical/ideological level, I can't really make any commitments in regards to meditation or enlightenment. Basically, I'm too fucking busy to meditate, I'm lucky if I get a few hours a week in to play guitar or sit in my record room and listen to the records I've picked up.... I'm more into the middle path shit. I liked that part, because I used to be get into fights all the fucking time, and now I'm way more chilled the fuck out. I'm a grown up now. I didn't need a book to tell me that that stuff gets you nowhere. But it was a good book, but I took the entire philosophy of it with a middle path approach. I took what I thought was relevant and tried to better things from there....

just looked up Taoism.

Think im gonna try and go with that. The ideas sound like something I need in my life.

not a Buddhist but I meditate about an hour a day.

The Tao of Poo is a pretty cool book.

yes it is, and a decent introduction to Taoism for a westerner with a budding interest in the subject.

Which bio? Book 4 is one of his greatest works, SO much information! And pretty straight forward for Crowley. If you want to get adventurous check out the book of Thoth, his last work and maybe his most important.

I read Perdurabo by Richard Kaczynski... pretty interesting. I have been meaning to delve into his written works, I mean I read The Book of the Law and I think I get it
