Making a 8 ohm cab into a 4 ohm.

Just a thought, is there a way to make a 8ohm cab a 4 ohm by adding a 8 ohm resister in series? Obviously get one that can handle the wattage but would that affect tone or how the speakers work/get power? There's 2 inputs on my vertical 412s and I'd love to make one 8 ohm and the other 4 ohm. So I can run both for an 4 ohm load and be able to only run 1 and keep my amps running at 4 ohms. I think they sound more full and beefy pushing full power.

you mean 8 ohm in parallel. Series resistance adds together. I mean you can do that but that resistor needs to be rated for whatever total output power your amp throws you and if you are putting out say 100-200W that resistor is going to be fucking huge. Basically thats a giant waste of your amps power tho so I dont recommend it

About the only way you could do that would be to wire a 2nd jack and just have 2 speakers hooked to it( assuming that all the speakers are 8 ohms and wired in series/parallel)

Trade someone either speakers or the whole cab.
