Khanate, still don't get it!

Sorry if I'm pissing in your wheaties, but this band is an absolute buzz kill IMHO! Mr. Dubin's vocals make me feel like I'm being stabbed in the face. The composition goes with the vocal delivery. Khanate makes OLD feel like a walk in the park. I just can't do it!
Somebody please take these Khanate discs off of my hands. They are in "like new condition." Been sitting in a cd tower only played twice. $25 pp gift for all three.

Perhaps I need to see them perform live? That still will not help me with their recordings though. I feel the same way about Primus. Live, they are badass, otherwise I think they irritating as fuck.

I never thought I'd see the day when a Primus/Khanate comparison happened....
I wouldn't worry about "getting it"
They're extremely hateful and torturous.... it's not for everyone
I'd suggest avoiding Burning Witch, Teeth of Lions Rule The Divine and dISEMBOWELMENT as well.....

I checked Khanate out after seeing them mentioned in the Sunn thread last night, and with this comment it looks like I have some more cool stuff to check out now, too.

Yeah, I can only take so much pain. I like to be spanked every once in a while, but it ends there.

I listened to the second album and Capture/Release today. Band fucking rules.
Utterly crushing. BEERHAMMER, if you ever find that extra flask, I'll buy it.

They're my favorite. Best Fall listening, EVER. Also night time in the cold, driving. Two best soundtracks ever.
I remember listening to them driving down to college when I was still there a few years ago, in the winter, passing a huge barn that was on fire. Perfect music for it.

That's the key! You gotta hate whatever situation you are in, whether it's driving in the cold, or getting food at a store and you hate being at the store, to full appreciate KHANATE
