Electric Amp Power Unit Workalike?

I've always been intrigued by the Electric Power amp.
But with all the stigma and general bad vibes swirling around EA, I can't in good faith put my money out there.
Are there any similar amps?
Like:
High power (~200w)
Simple controls ( like less than 5 knobs)

The power units are just a power amp. Right? Still need a pre-amp. There's the Science Amps Mother, which is kind of mixture of a Hiwatt/Matamp 200. Then there's actual Matamp UK that can do a power amp unit. And/Or go custom. But I don't think there would be much of a price difference to justify getting a power amp custom built when you can get the pre-amp with it for a little more. Idk though.

I could have been a bit more clear.
The power unit is a full fledged amp.

I'll have to check out Science Amps.

Interested in this well.
Simple amps, control wise, are the best.
Gain, Vol, Tone, Verb (massive spring tank), 200w from kt88, 2 ohm stable, purple power light, big knobs, black and silver...that's what I want.

Keep in mind EA has anywhere between 1-3 year wait/build period.
I like simple amps as well. My Sunn is awesome because it's just volume, bass, and treble. My Traynor and Sound City are also super simple non master volume amps. I wonder if these Power Units have a similar circuit to their standard models. Even those vary between the master and non master volume models. There's a Matamp/Electric thread going on right below or above this one. Nick was posting there too, he might know.

I think that's always been their quoted wait time.

the power unit I dont know the scheme. It could be truly more of a power amp thing or just a really stripped down Volume unit. I have not seen gut shots of decent quality so I cant tell. As far as does anyone make something like this, not really in the commercial sector. Its more of a custom unit thing. And EAs ~ wait time right now is 23-24 months from people in forums who are still waiting on their amps.
Or you could scour the earth for something like this

Or if you want something stupid simple without the need of a preamp just look out for a Sunn 2000s, upgrade the tubes to KT88's, and replace the tube rectifier for a solid state. Should pull around 150 clean and loud tube watts with nothing but a volume, treble, and bass knob. I think there might be a contour knob too, but can't remember.

I think the Hulked out 2000s is my best bet.

Just get on the hunt for a good slave amp. They pop up semi-frequently.
