Let's talk about reverb and/or delay

I want to get a reverb and/or delay to go on my second board. Right now I have a Ghost Echo and an Echobox on my 'main' board. What would be some good options to compliment them?

Right now I'm considering the Trinity Reverb, Supermoon, Spring Theory, Spring Chicken, Boss RE20, DD7, that newer Ibanez delay, Carbon Copy.

Any opinions on those or other suggestions?

I really want to pick up a Supermoon. Right now I have a 1776 Effects Rub-A-Dub reverb and for a simple, non modulated reverb, it's the absolute best I've played and had. It rules and it was cheap to make. I pair it up with an analog delay since analog delays are usually dark and the reverb can be boosted with the volume knob for it to pop out.

get an actual spring reverb. check out the van amps sole-mate jr. its designed for pedal boards. the tank is separate so you can attach it under your board for instance, and the control unit has the stomp, and output level/dwell controls. It sounds sooooo nice. Very. Very very. Nice. It comes with a MOD three spring medium range tank, but there is also a short range and a long range available...like $20 apiece.

The Ibanez Echo Shifter is bad ass. Don't get it if you want crisp clean delay though, it's a dirty swirly beast. I run it to one amp and a Marshall Echohead to another for cleaner delay.

The Trinity is probably a great option for reverb, as after a few weeks of tweaking and various situational uses, my regular HoF is a great choice, not to mention a small footprint. I've also been very impressed with the Supermoon demos I've seen, but it doesn't have quite as many options. The decay on the Chrome version is to die for, and the subtle modulations are pretty killer. I only really need like, 1 or 2 different reverb sounds, but having the customization options of say my Alesis Wedge or TC Elec's toneprint editor is always a plus.

I used to own a Carbon Copy for a while, and it was alright. It only really had one type of reverb to it, but for shorter slapback it was pretty solid. Mine eventually started to do weird stuff to me, so I ended up with a 616, which is better in pretty much every way. Unless you hate the color red. Then it's terrible. If you end up wanting a CC/616ish type delay let me know. I can cut you a deal on mine, as I've realized in the last year or so that I prefer super clear digital delay sounds and am using my Timebender for pretty much everything now.

The Supermoon sounds so effing good, but the Trinity is intriguing for the options. Is there a difference between the PGS and 'stock' Supermoon other than color?

As much as the Vanamps thing is tempting, I just don't use verb enough to drop that kind of cash on one.

I am actually leaning more toward a DD7 or a Flashback, or maybe a Dispatch Master for delay. That way I could get pristine repeats if I wanted to do that. Maybe I should just get another DE7.

I have a Hall of Fame now (just like the Trinity except for two modes) and it's like a Swiss Army knife. I use it both for stuido recording and room/cab simulation, along with super lush stuff too in a different mode. Plus with the tone print, you can really make whatever you want. I like it for that reason and it's the reverb I keep coming back to.

I also miss my DD7 badly. But I got to use Grr's Flashback which was cool as hell especially with the tone print

i'm also considering a second reverb for some more interesting sounds. i also have the ghost echo and love it. as far as i'm concerned, that covers it for straight forward reverb. i'm leaning heavily towards a supermoon. modulated reverb would be cool. i've played a trinity and i liked the mod mode on those. although having a ghost echo already, the super moon seems way cooler as a dedicated modulated verb, being as i wouldn't need the standard modes on the trinity and the supermoon has more control over the mod. the GE sounds way better to me than the standard modes on the trinity or the HOF. i don't know anything about the echo box, but i really like having a modulated delay to pair with reverb as well. i have a disaster transport that i love. foot switchable mod that sounds awesome and is very controllable. the delay itself just sounds great too. i actually don't use the modulation on it as much anymore. it's more of my regular delay sound and i have a big box dmm that i use a lot for the modulated delay parts. so luch and thick and unique sounding.

I'd have skully build you a cave dweller (delay) plus a rub-a-dub (verb). Those two together is an amazing combo, and he could even build it in to one box with a master on/off if thats something your looking for (so it would be like a ghost disaster but with diferent internals). I have a 1776 multiplex delay that he built that I love to death. It cuts through a highly distorted guitar tone like butter which is hard to come by in a delay. At the moment I'm loving it in the Binson Echo-Rec mode, but the space echo and echoplex modes are killer as well.

sounds so good. Misterstomach said it, the delay sounds great and the modulation is so, so cool

It's awesome my friend, perfect delay for solos and lead lines where you want that dreary delay but don't want it lost in all the gain your using.

I've had and loved the disaster transport. I need to further investigate my options from skully.

I've been watching clips and its definitely gonna be trinity or super moon chrome for verb.

A very solid digital delay. Tone print capabilities, of which we have already touted their merits in this thread, are really nice. Some of the ones on the website are pretty meh but being able to make your own are awesome. I also really like the looper as far as using it, because it's super simple. My only gripe about it as a looper is that there isn't a button for looping, it's a switch, and unless you have the delay volume set to 0 the delay is automatically on, which is both cool and awful. But it's the reason I didn't jive with my Ditto, because the capabilities of the Flashback x4 are so nice for looping with the record/play once/stop being so fucking great.

I picked up a Hall of Fame Mini for my board back when I was on a PTJr and I really like it. Now that I upgraded to a PT2 I want to get another verb and move the Mini to the front of my signal for the washed out dirt out of a cave sound. But I love the tone print capabilities so much that I might just buy another Hall of Fame, but get the bigger one. It's a toss up. I really want a Ghost Echo and a Supermoon and an Eterna. I'm so torn. That being said, I haven't tried any of those and don't have the scratch to buy and flip.
