WINTER SOLSTICE RESOLUTIONS

I want to take a quick sec to say that the Winter Solstice is more important to me than New Years, because it's when the days start to get longer, and we get more light, so on and so forth. This, no matter how weird or whatever it may seem, is part of what I'm doing instead of new Years resolutions. I want to thank Tom Dalton and everyone/anyone else who helps to run this crazy place. I know I'm not the biggest poster around here, but you dudes are great, and I know that I'm not alone when I say that I love this forum not only because it's so informative, but because it feels like a great little online community. Myself and many others come here to share stuff we love and to seek someone who will listen when we're having a shitty time, and I think it's great that you guys are all so supportive in both regards.

so since I'm disregarding New Year's eve/day, I'm going to put up my goals and shit here. I'm gonna give the no booze thing another serious try and try to funnel my efforts and energies into creating some awesome art and music, and actually spreading it somehow. Too often I keep it to myself or am just outright lazy and so nothing ever becomes of it. I'm tired of working in retail and grocery stores, and the longer I do it, the more I see the older people who work there and fear that I'm going to be another version of them some day. I turned 30 this past year, and while I don't think of that as "old" (I hardly ever think about my age, really) I do think it's time that I should be doing something I give a shit about.

Feel free to leave any thoughts or your own resolution-things here!

Cheers, fuzzbreauxdoodes. You guys are the best!

you're right about 'new year's eve', its totally artificial.
the winter equinox is the real 'new year'.

certain age numbers are also artificial, 30 has no more relevance than 29 or 32, its just because as humans we count in base 10.

for the coming year, its gonna be 100% music focused. Jazz school in the spring, some college somewhere for learning the engineering side of stuff, and playing gigs like crazy. I wanna be sure that people know who i am in my local music scene by the time im done with 2014.

You should combine one and three. :thumb: It feels nice. I've only played noise shows and it's fun, even if there's only like three people watching and they're the other artists.

I intend on being more misanthropic/nihilist than and ever and listening to a ridiculous amount of grindcore and d-beat.
