What fuzz pedal is used on Whats in my Head? by Fuzz?

Hey everyone,
I am new here so I hope this question is in the right place on the forum. I have already checked out some info about Ty Segall and the Fuzz War pedal. I own the pedal but can't get tone in the song What's in my Head? by Fuzz. I think the guitar player is Charlie Moothart. I also like the Black Joe Lewis's sound on Skulldiggin, and almost prefer that. Any ideas? Thanks!
Jason

Looks like a tuner and Fuzz War... He uses loud Fender Amps so maybe that's the ticket...

Those're some nice fuzz sounds.

So, you want something bassy and blown-out sounding, huh?

Thanks man….I saw that picture here…once and thats why I got the pedal. It sounds great but yeah its that blown out sound I am looking for. That picture is of Ty I assume and not Charlie (never seen the dude) I read that Ty plays drums in the band Fuzz so I am wondering if its a different pedal. I came across a Wattson classic fy6 that sounds pretty shredded… In this picture he has a Boss Super Overdrive …hmmmm….thanks again…J

There's also at least one other pedal off the side of the photo, probably a Boss overdrive. He could be stacking pedals - cascading gain stages is a great way to get blown-out sounds.

Yeah that Boss isn't plugged in, though.

Sounds like that'd do it.

If cranking a loud amp isn't a reality, try a boost.

Ah crap - the picture was cropped on my phone so I could only see the corner of it. It must be one o' them newfangled WIRELESS Boss pedals! :p

But yes, pedal into cranked amp would sure as hell do the trick...

I had good luck getting tones like those (especially the Skulldiggin' sound) stacking the Demo Tape Fuzz into a Mountainking Behemoth II.

Danny W. just happens to have both in the B/S/T for a steal:

I tried the Fuzz War > Behemoth and it was good but The DTF sounded slightly better to me and is more versatile.

The SS/BS Fuck OD is a good stacker for these tones as well. The new Mid-Fi OD can get gnarly too.

Just looking at the pic above, the tuner comes before the Fuzz War. I'm wondering if having a buffer before the Fuzz War has an affect on how it behaves? Had a Fuzz War but I never found myself being able to get similar tones to the Fuzz album. While I can hear the Fuzz War in the Ty Segall stuff, the Fuzz record seems to have a bit of a tighter, fuller sounding, less scooped fuzz sound to my ears.

ty's stuff is mostly twin reverbs/musicman amps for the guitar sound while fuzz is a bandmaster reverb

I dunno how much of an effect that has on the sound

I have been playing around with the Moog mini drive pedal after the Fuzz War or with the Ab-synth by fuzzhugger and the sound is comparable but really kicks ass!!!!! Thanks for all the help guys!
