what an amazing man, and an incredible loss for our world. but what an incredible gift he was in his life! raise a glass to his good work and his life. and carry it on however you can.

Hear! Hear! May the gods bless that man and return his soul to the earth. I don't know what to believe theologically but souls like that make me hope that reincarnation is at least an option.

and after all the time he spent incarcerated, he always had a genuine smile, as though it was for THE best possible cause. And it was.
No glass to raise, but honored just the same.

another freed dissident who sought reconciliation rather than revenge. perhaps the highest plane of politician there is. much respect to a fallen hero.

But his ideas live on!
And sorry but I just need to add a personal fuck you to David Cameron who hypocritically paid tribute to Mandela's attempts to create a united South Africa while he and the coalition government are doing their very best to widen the gross economic divide that exists in the UK.
