Stripping finish, zip strip hates primer?

So I tried to use some zip-strip to remove the finish on a project guitar, and while it took the paint right off, the primer seems largely unscathed. Do I just need to leave it on for a longer while? Also, it's cold outside and I dunno if that'll affect how it works

Experiences and/or thoughts? I'd much prefer to just yank out the palm sander, but I don't want to piss off my neighbors. Maybe I'll knock on their door this afternoon
