I want to get a small cab to fit on a bookshelf in my living room. The shelf is 14" wide. There don't seem to be any commercially available cabs to fit that space so I'll probably have to have something made.
Should I go with a 12" or a 10" speaker?
The 12 would have to be really tight inside the cabinet. Is that a problem?
Am I doomed to lose all lows if I go with a 10?

I've played and recorded grind/death with a 2x10 and it was awesome. So much so that once my GAS gets under control I'll pick up a 2x10 to go with my 2x12s I'm currently using. Really punchy sound.

If you've got the cab near a wall that's going to amplify the shit out of the bass anyway. Do the 10s!

im of the schooling of ethier bigger or smaller. i love love love 12's and 15's. fuck 10's. if its because of size go with an 8. it will sound like garbage for 2 months but after 8's break in they are fucking glorious with fuzz.
