the chest tattoo thread made me wonder about this. well, that and my last session. i have them on both shoulders, upper arms & calves, one wrist. one shoulder stretches up onto the side of my neck. harshest spot i've dealt with thus far though was directly on my ankle. damn. figured neck would be nasty but didn't really expect that. elbow's gonna be interesting...

Elbows fucking suck, the front of your shoulder sucks a bit, outside of your forearm FUCKING SUCKS (if you're skinny like me, that bone...bled like all fuck, too) but by far and away the most painful spot I've had done is over the hip bone/stomach area.
Skinny me, fat outlines, big german tattoo artist pushing down as hard as he can, drilling bone and internal organ.
Looks fucking cool though.

funny, my first wraps around near my armpit, guy who did it was surprised it wasn't bad for me. and the one on my inner wrist was cake.

Sternum or the top of my stomach directly below my sternum.

For most of this tattoo, outline session and shading session, I had a blank face and felt calm.
But this area was the last thing the artist had to do, and my endorphin were long gone.
Shit sucked, as you can see below.

I'm skinny, and I've picked some unfun areas to tattoo...my sternum wasn't fun, or the indented area at the bottom of my sternum (xiphoid process)...or my nipple. Or into my armpit.

It wasn't the most painful, but getting my lower ribs done kept making my leg jerk, which made for an unpleasant sitting. The inside of my arm was bad, cause the gun kept going over the tendon in there, sending nerves down through my fingers...my arm swelled up stupidly.

Worst tattoo was my first, it was an arrow on the inside of my left arm, aka a giant straight line. The dude didn't use a shading needle to fill it in either, he used the line needle for the entirety of the tattoo. Hurt horribly, but made all my others feel like nothing
