What are some albums that are kinda heavy yet clean with big loud guitars?

Check out Earth's more recent albums. I really like newer Earth.
Listening to them is like reading Blood Meridian.
Listening to them is like standing in the middle of a dry lake. And you're a drifter. And you've been shot in the leg.

Re-activated Swans, for sure.

Check out Oxbow's newest--The Narcotic Story and the Songs For The French EP.

Yeah, lots of Swans' stuff fits here. Angels of light have their moments too, but not quite like Swans. Maybe some of the stuff on Mark Lanegan's older albums. Rowland S Howard's solo stuff tends to be pretty clean (from what I've heard anyway), and his sound is huge.

JR Ewing

Their second album especially. The song "Laughing with Daggers" from Ride Paranoia is a good way to gain interest.

I listened to that album for the first time in years the other week. They have SO MUCH TO ANSWER FOR in terms of influencing a lot of shitty clean guitar screamo but it's a really, really awesome record. Hadn't aged badly at all.

Well, the guitars on pretty much every Melvins album post-2000 are actually a lot cleaner than they seem. Most of the distortion you hear on A Senile Animal seems to be coming from the bass.

That's kind of the case with Nude With Boots, as well.
