This is EY Guitar's yellow tortoise shell. I'd be slapping it on this Fernandes Strat along with a trio of chrome lipstick pickups:

Maybe it's a beautiful ugly on a different body finish?

Its gonna look 80's hairmetal no matter what color guitar its on but I think it looks cool. Need a better pic to see the detail honestly.

Dude, I think it's supposed to look 50s at the most recent. I'm going for ancient pawnshop funkiness.

First thing I pictured when I saw the guard was a dude in spandex and curly hairsprayed hair. Like Stryper but in leopard print.

I havent seen many 50's guitars so :idk:

I've got a Boogie preamp that one of the Stryper guys allegedly had owned . . . Not what I'm going for. Mistaking that style of tort for a leopard spot pattern, though, well, that could happen and would be wrong. Very wrong. If I could find fire-stripe tort like Tor-Tis makes for acoustics, that'd be totally awesome, but I can't find it even in sheets sized for a Strat 'guard: http://ellisguitars.com.au/pickguards_t ... reven.html

All I'm sayin is that is that it's going to look like leopard print to anyone who isn't three feet or less from your guitar. Sorry to drag this out  :p

Yes. That was me agreeing. Even the better looking yellow tort from Tor-Tis would do that on a Strat pickguard. (Or probably on any other electric.) FSM damn 80s hair metal for all of it horrible legacy.

Doesn't it, though? Would totes love to see something like that in a Strat guard. The biggest sheets of the TorTis I've seen are just 7.5" x 12". Would that even be big enough for a Tele or Jag guard? Oh, and that's $64 for an uncut sheet. Pretty but pricy, and I spent $80 for the Fernandes, which is why I was looking at a dirt cheap pickguard in the first place.

Well, by measuring one of my strat knock-offs, it looks like you may be able to fit that piece on there, so it would cover the electronics, etc.... but it might not be an exact strat shape. :idk:

Edit: You might grab a piece of paper of the same dimensions as the piece you'd like, and see if you can make a stencil that would fit.
