Hey Bendalicious, how does the KO Amps Squarewave compare to the Basic Audio Squarewave+ ??? BTW, nice vid, but it needs more guns, bourbon, and Asian ladyboys (to give it a Behndy twist)

I got no bones telling anyone that the worst builder experience that I have had was with him.
Also IMO from this Demo vid the KO is better.

Sorry to hear about your negative experience. I haven't had any dealings with Basic Audio so I wasn't aware of any dickishness going on. It was just that I think that Behndy did a Squarewave+ vid and the two pedals seem similar and come in at basically the same price point. Any other suggestions for similar pedals?

oop. yah, i had a transaction with Mssr. Lyons go.... not the smoothest as well.

01) just got my first handgun to go with a home protection shotty! but, in uber-liberal Cali that's something you feel out how peoples feel about firearms before discussing.

they are a bit similar, drawing from the same style of fuzz. but i'd say the Basic Audio 'un kinda fits inside the KO Amps 'un? the Basic had one good sound, wasn't very versatile. the KO has really 2 or 3 damn good sounds, the splutter breakup is very cool, you can gate the HELL out of it, and the Tone knob gives each tone you land on a few different voicings. i way prefer this guy.

thr KO Amps actally made me think of the Unpleasant Surprise more than Lyon's Squarewave. i love the US, but it just is not voiced for bass. takes away all the bottom. and while this is a squarewave fuzz like the Basic Audio, the awesome sustain and way it handles note breakup is just beautiful, and takes what i liked about the US and puts it in a better tone?

Thanks for the reply, the sustain is what is selling me on the KO. I am also a huge fan of analog octave down but with bass I usually need to kick in a compressor (dems fightin' words, I know) to hold a note for longer than a second, so any synthy fuzz or octave pedal I can get away with not have to clutter up my board using a compressor gets big ups from me.

We have family in East Bay, Yo so I know what the climate can be w/boomsticks. I was referring to the other thread about "The best pedal demo ever" use of guns, booze, and gurly legs.

What do you think about this thing compared to oxide? kinda has a synthy gated lots of bass thing goin down right?

yah. very different. the Oxide gets gated, but not NEAR as much as this. the brassmaster side is the more synthy on the Oxide, but it's nowhere near the same sound.

to me, what the Oxide excels at is covering a metric butt load of sounds. but it doesn't get where this does. they'd be good compliments actually.
