Gibson QC is so spotty that it's not worth it unless you can find one that plays like jesus juice in person.

And they do exist, but you might need to play through seven or eight (or fifty) before you find one that lives up to the pricetag.

No, drop some nice gibby style pups in your mij's and you are there. I think the only reason to buy gibson is resale value

yup everything except

superbass
marshall cab with swamps
78 the paul
MIJ ripper copy

I HATE days like today.
I used to be perfectly happy with 1 or 2 guitars and 1 bass. . . U can only play one at once right?

then take all that extra cash into funding homebuilt cabs. and more NMV amps. . .

I've tried translating it as well as his following message and I think I've deciphered atleast part of the alien code:

[undescrenible] Orange [no compatible human word located] AD140 [some poorly written rambles] selling to long lost Astronaught [something about conversion rates of money and the fates foretelling of said events]

As a guy who owns nothing but Gibsons (and an Orville by Gibson) I vote no to it only if you've come across one that you've gotten your hands on and you feel like you can't live without it. The quality control on the new ones are horrible. Plus they all have chambered or weight relieved bodies and they don't feel like a real Gibson at all. Anything from 05 or before is solid wood except for a few models. Anything from the 80's or 90's from all the ones I have played are pretty well built and the quality control is spot on.

i think it's worth it to get a nice fancy set neck les paul type guitar. there's nothing like it. however, it doesn't need to be an actual gibson. you might be better off getting a good edwards or tokai or something else japanese, but on the higher end. or perhaps a heritage if you want to get closer to gibson and want american made. or if it's a gibson, shoot for something between '86-2000ish. those are generally great. if it's a newer one, definitely try before you buy.
