Been noticing everyone is cash poor with killer gear on the block, but nobody wants to trade for what *you* have.

I'm mad at how many deals I've missed in the past month alone...but still debt-free so who can be mad at that?
My sympathy to those gearbros who aren't as fortunate...

BUT YALL LIVING WELL BUSTERS SHOULD BE BUYING MY STUFF WHEN IT HITS THE B/S/T
MY TASTE IS THE SHIT EVEN THOUGH FICKLE AND PRONE TO CHANGE I'M SUPER CEREAL JEEZ

Cheers to that. Keep on it, bro. It's hard work, but the payoff is so worth it.

Sooo true. In June, my wife and I paid off all of our debts except our house. We paid off two student loans, three credit cards, four retail store cards, and two cars (only had one at a time, though). We paid cash for several dental surgeries, for both her and me (only a few more to go!). All told, it was around $50k.

It took about 5 years, and a ton of communication and discipline. No vacations. No dinner in restaurants (unless someone else paid). No gifts for each other. No anything. AC at 80, heat at 58. Hell, we haven't even bought wedding bands or gone on a honeymoon, and we've been married for over a year. The only "fun money" we spent was either given to us as gifts, or unexpected financial windfalls (bonuses, tax refund checks, etc.)

It was not fun, but it sure is now!

To the younger guys just starting out, stay out of debt. You will have a huge financial advantage if you take the mindset that if you can't pay cash for it, you don't deserve it-- especially if you already owe money. It helps that it is true. ;)
