This band is from my hometown, very very sincere dudes. Their (now ex) vocalist decided to make a tasteless joke through Twitter and everyone is going apeshit. They had to kick him out tonight just because of the backlash they've been getting. It really sucks for everyone, this stupid comment doesn't reflect the rest of the band at all and it was a dumb joke to begin with. It especially sucks to make a fucking national headline for something ridiculous. I feel awful that the rest of the band has to deal with this all, and probably has to change their name now. All their hard work completely fucked by one stupid comment made by one member.

Just goes to show you literally cannot dick around on social media sites.

Idiot. I'm sure he didn't think that statement would get him kicked out of his band or anything, but I feel like even a brief thought of the consequences of that statement would easily lead to it not being made.

& fuck twitter.

Western Pennsylvania; Known for 90s mathrock, coleslaw on sandwiches and the douchiest hockey fans in the world. Sometimes it's hard to love this place...also, never heard of that band. I bet they suck.

To be fair; this guy only represents 2/3rds of hockey fans and about 90% of Penguins fans; but hey; that's what happens when all your fans only hopped on board the bandwagon in the past few years. Obviously joking here. The figures are more like 1/6th of hockey fans and 98% of Penguins fans.

In all seriousness though; I love hockey but I really can't stand the jock mentality of sports fanboys. People like this and the guy in Boston who knocked out a Toronto fan at a playoff game; disgust me. Like seriously; why would anyone wish that on a city just because they didn't like a call in a sporting event? One uneducated; ignorant imbecile can spoil it for a lot of people.

I haven't seen the play in question and I'll grant Matt Cooke has made serious improvements in his sportsmanship, but he has a reputation for crossing the line.

People think the internet is so separated from their real lives (you certainly can make it that way, but not when you're using your real name on social networking) but its not. Welcome to the digital age, yo. Smile, because everyone is watching. :)

Another reminder that the internet is part of real life. I don't know how many people still use the terms IRL or RL, but the idea still hangs on.

It's going to be amazing when we're voting for a president who grew up with social media, and all their tweets, statuses, and photos are scrutinized. "Sir, when you were 15, you tweeted, 'My dong be long, hos call me king kong.' Do you stand by that statement?"

Pfft, why be mad at Boston? Pittsburgh is getting outplayed like a buncha chumps, and no one to blame but themselves.

That's easy. Of course you're going to stick up for yourself.

But that's when they bring in the ho's. So, lesson here: if you're going to run for president, you better kill everyone who's touched your junk.

this is why all my forum accounts are under different noms du Net (i.e. no name is used more than once), i don't do Facebook, and i have an anonymous e-mail account. i really don't need a potential employer asking me "so, what in your experience playing rock music to people on drugs qualifies you for this position?" or "tell me more about your rage disorder."
