That band you were in that you loved.

I found some old youtube videos of the first band I was in. Despite the fact it only lasted about a year and that I joined after the recordings were made it is still my favorite band I've been a part of. We were a group doomed for failure. Everyone trying to sleep with everyone else's girlfriends, I played drums, I am not a drummer. It's over now but i doubt I will ever have as much fun as I did in that band. It has kind of ruined me because all other bands ive been in really don't compare even the ones I play guitar in, which is my weapon of choice. So anyone else have a lost love, a band that got away?

the one i'm in now. best dynamics relationship-wise, me and my drummer are totally on the same page, 'm super happy with the amount of noise we make as just a two piece, and it's so damn easy with only two personalities.
been a blast so far.

lol. i just got lucky. did a thing with a guy i was in a band with in high school for about 6 years, we hadn't seen each other for about 7 years after that, started something up. was a lot of fun and a mesh of live stuff and sequenced stuff. quickly turned...... not too good. guy wasn't who i thought he would be, silliness ensued, lucked into the second drummer we had with that mess is AWESOME. we went off and dicked around for a bit, picked up a grrL singer/sorta keys person that was awesome and fun and then........ really wasn't.
just us two now.
soooooooooooo happy. 'specially when i hear about so many peoples up on here that i KNOW are crazy good musicians not having good times finding somebody.
URRRRRRRRRRRF.

Musicians are a finicky bunch, thats for sure. The band i joined after Timecat, my first band, was composed of the primary song writer of Timecat and three people who had drummed for Timecat, sounded nothing like Timecat. In Timecat the guitarist was chasing the bassists girlfriend, My girlfriend was chasing the guitarist, the singer kissed the guitarist girlfriend and then the guitarist moved across the country and the band ended. Volatile to say the least.

the last band i was in. drummer was on an ego trip and blew it for us. other founding member (bassist) stole a ton of money from me and did other shady shit. band was doomed from the start. but we had lots of fun, got a pro video shot or our single, got a bunch of attention, then blam. its over.
heres the video. i cringe a little at this song now, but people would lose their shit when we played this live.

I was pretty fortunate to play music with the same drummer from the fourth or fifth grade until the end of high school. We were a fairly hiveminded rhythm section, and a couple of the bands/entities we ended up in were really fun.

Haven't been in a band where I thought everything was remotely even or fortunate across the board.,

was in a chugga chugga band about year after high school...everyone was at least 2 years younger than me. We were all haggard as fuck and didn't take no shit from anyone. The singer would pass out all the time from yelling too hard, I used throw my guitar around like a monkey, the bassist turned up too loud, the drummer was always changing his mind on whether he liked the songs we wrote, we were always getting into shit with people, broke the headstock on my dad's Kramer on some dude's head.... shit was less than stable. Best 6 months of my life.

I was in a band with 3 good friends around 15-16, punk-rock but the other guitar player thought he was better that he was and was more into metal and stuff than the rest of us, so the 3 of us ditched him and started our own band who sounded, immediately, completely different. The singer/bass player switched to keyboards (which he could just about play), played fun poppy music with synth and stuff and we auditioned a couple of other friends as bass players, finally got one of our best friends in and me and him would swap bass and guitar till we got bored and I took over bass full time.
We played some shows, mainly parties at friends' houses where the cops called, and it was generally rough as shit and we weren't that good and were for the most part using whatever shit gear we could scrounge together, but we had so much fun! Broke up when school ended and we all went off to do other stuff, we're all still friends though and try to meet up when we're back in the old hometown. We did a couple of fairly professional recordings that I still listen to for nostalgia value, I like this one even though lots of things about it aren't that good.

It's funny because I generally have a terrible memory but still remember loads of these songs.

That's me playing drums... Quitting this band and regretting it made me realize what an arrogant prick I am

I have two loves when it comes to bands:
The first was the first real "band" I played in. My scout-leader needed a stand-in bassist and I was the one he'd always call to fill-in. We never practiced much, but when we did is was the most fun I've ever had playing with other people. It was a kinda big band locally so I got to play lots of high-energy shows for big crowds. Most memorable was at a reform school for drug-addled high-schoolers. Super fun till the security people shut it down.
The second was a lot of fun even though we never played out. It was an odd situation. It was a 3 piece band and the lead-singer/guitarist left, leaving me on bass and the drummer. We still met for practice, but neither of us knew what to do. I eventually took up the guitar and then things took off in the best way possible. We would have weekly 4-5 hour sessions where we'd jam for a bit till we thought we had the beginnings of a song, then we'd record whatever we came up with at the next practice. It was the most musically rewarding band I've ever been with, and the reason why I never want to be in a band with more than two people.
