How is a final grade of 82 possible in this course.... by my math I should have a 91.5351379 allowing that attendance is 10% of final grade. The only way that i could possibly have a final grade of 82.55 is if the "troubleshooting quiz" that apparently i wasnt there for is worth 10 entire points on my final grade.....which it isnt ive checked with the instructor....

Might be a weighted grade where tests are more weighted than attendance etc?

You don't have a course syllabus with a grading breakdown?

Oh shit sorry i forgot the top bar....the number all the way to the left is the weight. Theres only one weight here which is on my attendance which is 10 pts

Yeah grading on attendance is so arbitrary. Its a way to pass along stupid people. If I have the subject mastered....i should get an A regardless of how many times i had a flat tire or couldnt be somewhere at 8 in the morning. Im not taking an attendance class, im taking a preventive maintenance class...theres no reason i should have a fucking 82 because i missed 5 classes.

I'm too drunk to figure out the spreadsheet, but...
speaking as an educator, I always make part of the grade based on part of attendance. Too me, a student's grade should partially reflect how much that student learned, and since assignments and tests can't account for everything that one learns in a class...

Also, it's a way to reward students who put forth more effort by "just showing up."

And students who care about a B versus an A are lame. :P

And by my drunken math, you should have at 87.7.
