Tax return gone sour

Alright... out of words and about 1000% done with this shit

so I was supposed to get my taxes back... I'm a student and i only worked part time, but still - there was about 400 bucks in it for me... that was supposed to be a new pickup for my Jazzmaster, custom pedal from Schlatte (which i still will be able to pay for somehow) and a few shows and festivals...

guess what

when i started working there, the person who was supposed to communicate with the HQ and mainly the accountants was a dickwheel, so when i gave him the papers saying i'm a student and shit and he was suppsoed to get me the forms and paperwork so i get all my taxes back, it never happened... but EVERY TIME i asked him, he told me he was working on it or that it's done and we're waiting for the paperwork and stuff...

and later when I communicated with the accountants myself, i was told we'd figure it out and everything will be alright... what they didn't know was that since it was only a part time job, i wasn't there a lot... so my earnings were under a certain level... and without the forms signed in advance, i only got the taxes from the paychecks above that level... there were TWO paychecks like that

so out of the 400 dollars, I got something like... 90

of course, it's kind of my fault, but I was just used to deal with the branch head and he'd deal with the rest... i'm a fucking help, part time bullshit, here, in a decent workplace, THEY do that... and i had no idea i was dealing with an incompetent prick who just cost me about almost two paychecks

the currency is funky, but you get the gist.... imagine it like you got only a little under 25% of what you got back...

this thread may be regarded redundant... but i'm just so overwhelmed right now, i had no other choice... sorry :picard: the problem is not that i can't buy the pickup... but at least i want to have a nice summer and see a lot of bands without striving for food

My sympathy.
I've had more than 1 employer attempt to classify me as an independent contractor to avoid paying their half of the taxes.
Not only did they wind up paying their share[s], but at least 1 found herself audited for being a sneaky cunt.
I worked for that old bitch just over 2 years and helped keep her in the business she inherited from her late husband, only to be met with a phone message (that I missed) to the tune of "the business has been sold, and the new owner has staff lined up so-"
No warning, nothing...she never even let me know it was on the market [which I knew anyway due to local connects].
But if I had been looking to leave, the bitch would have expected me to give 2 weeks notice...at least.
So the news wound up being delivered in person by the equally cunty store manager who was conspicuously uncomfortable about the situation.
I walked down the block and was hired at another place not 20 min later...

Being a good worker for a shitty boss is some of the most enraging shit I can think of.
In fact, working for other people sucks no matter how you slice it. Shiiiiit.

The IRS is saying that I am not me and I am supposed to have a $1000 coming back. I should have had that money a month ago.

Yeah, it seems to me that in most cases, the problem is due to some kind of info distortion that gets created by distance... the reason why it happened in my case might be partially because we are just a branch
