last couple boutique pedals ive gotten came with greencell batteries inside

now i know a lot of people are against using batteries at all, but whats the advantage to using the greencells?

They're carbon batteries, so under a load the voltage will sag a bit more, like turning a starve knob down slightly. Some people think it makes a difference, but I've never tried it. Also, they're cheap.

so this is a good thing then? do we want to starve?

just happened to read the mastotron manual today. "uses one 9v battery, preferably alkaline, but the unit is shipped with a carbon-zinc battery."

this is important, yall. the batteries we buy in this life echo for eternity.

saggy battery is fine for fuzz. It makes it sound a little more nasty, sputtery, or strangled...and even more so as it dies. Saggy battery not good for anything else. Saggy battery still bad for planets.

battery related. just got this ghost face today. it came with a velcro patch stuck inside the backplate, and a loose one i can stick anywhere to keep the battery from moving around, which it does a lot.
im supposed to stick it to the battery itself? that doesnt make much sense when the battery dies

There is velcro on the inside of the plate for you. Just remove and reapply?? Shouldn't take much sticky to stay on a battery.
