Why don't you "borrow" Rosetta Stone?
The version I tried was decent for learning vocabulary.

I want to do that, but Comcast still hasn't come to set up internet at my new apartment. It's ridiculous.

I watch some of these channels pretty regularly : http://beelinetv.com/free_french_tv/

And my favorite, because it's a series/loop of short, themed programs. This way if it repeats you have a better chance of picking up more. Unfortunately, they preiodically have technical issues. : http://www.tv7.com/live
