The I Wish They Would Make a Movie of It Thread

What do you want to see made into a movie?

The Silver Chair
C.S. Lewis book. It's next in the series, after Voyage of the Dawn Treader, if they are making the movies in order. I only saw LionWitchWardrobe, though, so I don't know if the other two suck. Hopefully they don't mess this one up if they make it.

Blood Meridian
This would be a great Coen brothers movie. Or the guys who did There Will Be Blood.

Cowboy Bebop
I read some stuff a while ago about this maybe happening, with Keanu Reeves as Spike. I think he'd be pretty good, actually, but he's getting too old (like he said in an interview somewhere when asked about it). I'd cast Bruce Willis as Jet.

The Sirens of Titan
Olivia Wilde would be good as Beatrice Rumfoord.

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe
Sequel to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Great cast in that movie, especially Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent. Plus, since I saw The Hobbit, Arthur Dent and Bilbo Baggins are the same person in my fictional universe.

Oh man. House of Leaves would be amazing.

Well really, 'The Navidson Record', inside of House of Leaves, because I don't see any way ANYone (even someone as disjointed as Cronenberg) could turn the whole of House of Leaves into a coherent film.

The Navidson Record would make a great horror/suspense flick though. Throw in found footage documentary style and it'd be rad.

that's my favorite book. after the movie version of breakfast of champions it would terrify me if that was happening.

first thing that jumped to mind though was king's tommyknockers.

also i haven't seen it but hitman would've been another i'd have suggested if it hadn't already happened & apparently sucked.

OHH and man funny timing, i was just thinking about this yesterday - bradbury's martian chronicles.
that could rock...

I kind of want this to happen, but I'm also weary of the idea. The story and concept are so detailed and involved I feel that it may not adequately translate to film unless it was taken very literally.

You're welcome. Also, individual stories have been adapted over the years for various TV shows.

Yeah I agree, it would have to be a very straight conversion, very little messing about with the actual story and characters. I just remember seeing the first Grave Encounters, and they mess around with some of the ideas from the Navidson Record, and the thought of pushing it further really interested me.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress

And selected parts of the Wild Cards series, but probably not arranged like most of the books are currently; they work as books but would probably jump around too much to make a decent film.

Um, they've already made a movie of this one too.
