Richmond is the best place ever. What sort of things are you looking to do? There's tons of venues, really good eats (I can only be of help for the good veg/vegan stuff), great bars that do fun trivia/karaoke nights hosted by my friend.

GO TO STRANGE MATTER!
EAT A BURGER ON TUESDAY FOR CHEAP!
Go to Vinyl Conflict!
Check out all the murals around town.
Try out Belly Timber's Nachos and have a beer while you're there.

Yeah, I know Strange Matter. The guy I'm staying with DJs there sometimes. I'll definitely check out Vinyl Conflict. Took a stroll through Steady Sounds yesterday. Cool little shop. Is Belly Timber near the VCU happenings? If so, I might have been there.

Belly Timber is probably 10-15 minute walk from the Strange Matter/VCU area. Lots of good food, vegan nachos/pizza including, tons of beer. Sticky Rice is cool for night time bar stuff, never there during the day. Sunday night they have trivia hosted by my friend who is hilarious and does a lot of dares in between rounds which are often messy and embarrassing and great. They have a giant bucket of tots you can order, which I suggest, while you chase 'em down with some PBR tall boys.

Sticky Rice tots are indeed delicious. My gf used to live in Richmond, and the place I miss the most is Garnett's Cafe in the fan. They have great sandwiches. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is worth a visit, as it is free.
