dropped and cracked my ipod screen
ive had that military grade otter box
on it from the beginning
but certain headphones
and the tascam condenser mic
didnt fit with it on
started to get lazy and not put it back on
now im lookin through spider webs
and slicing my finger tryin o turn the alarm off
i had no idea they could be repaired though
i think theres also replacement(??? no warranty)
any suggestions which route to go
what did you do?
how much did it cost?
how long did it take?
is the repair perfect or hack job?

screen replacements are $24
im not doin it though
i dontgot them steady hands anymore

for the time being put a piece of packaging tape over it, will keep your fingers safe and tough function will still work.

haha love it, all credit due to my gf, I tease her about her tape iPhone all the time, now it makes me big baller on forums

When the screen broke on my ipod Nano, I bought one of those replacement kits on ebay and did it myself. Super easy too, there are just a couple of connectors attached to the screens that you need to remove and switch out, no soldering or anything fancy required.
Looks like the kits for the ipod Touch are like 20bux, too.

It'll be closer to 99$ plus tax. If you got it in September that means you have 6-ish months of warranty left. The warranty won't cover accidental damage but...

Let's say you replace the glass yourself and then your sleep wake button stops working... no warranty.

If Apple replaces it you will have the remainder of your warranty attached to the replacement.

that insurance will be with the store you purchased it through.

Apple doesn't have any insurance/accidental damage protection on the iPod touch/iPod.

Just trying to save you a trip to an Apple Store if you have insurance through somebody else. Just want to make life a little easier.

the insurance thing was best buy
where i bought it
covered everything
just didnt have the extra loot at the time
and had 14 days to do it
then the laziness took over
