As everyone here knows, I've been trying to fucking move for the better part of two years. I finally have a way out to the area with my return, but i'm having a hard time finding a place that I'm going to end up being remotely comfortable in (either mad expensive, or 20-something professionals looking for roommates ).

Anyone in the area able to give me a hand finding a place to rent?

Bro, unless you move to bumblefuck, you're going to be rooming with 20-something professionals until you're a 30-something professional.

Go check out the roommate places and see if you gel with any of them.

I don't, it's just that most of these houses are so... clean and organized. I feel like I'd become "that" roommate, because I'm a dirty hipster, and I just don't even want to go through that again. I'd rather try to find some other "grungy guys" (as my girlfriend put it a day ago) if I'm rooming with people.

I'm a grungy dude, everything is messy. BUT you do not want to live in a house with a bunch of crusties unless you dont mind sinks full of dirty dishes for days even weeks(sometimes maggots), roaches, scummy sometimes uninvited guests, THE SMELLS, horrible bath rooms with hair EVERYWHERE and clogged bath tubs that fill up to your ankles and leave you feeling dirtier than before, people using your hygienic supplies, motherfuckers stealing your socks because they don't do laundry, broken everything, people fucking in your bed because its cleaner than theirs, ect ect...I got stories for days of horrible shit I've seen in my homes and other people's homes

Trust me bro, I've done it multiple times...its not worth it. Look to the young professionals. Be "that guy". Just don't leave your mess around the house, keep it in your room. You'll regret moving in with crusties. Unless you don't mind all that horrible shit. Who knows, Maybe you'll find a really cool professional that has a nice setup already and doesn't mind you using his $800 expresso machine and his 60" hd 3d tv.

But you make some solid points. I'm just going to have to send out a massive number of emails and try to snag a solid place soon, I guess. I was hoping for some people in the area that might have some advice, but I think there's only one Buff area ILFer, honestly.

It was fun...in retrospect. I wouldn't have half the great stories that I do had I not lived with shitty roommates.

Moving to Buffalo because my girlfriend is from there, and is going to school there. It's also the area I'm trying to go to school in. I'd try to stay with her family, but her mother is staying with her grandmother (they normally live in my current town, but for the semester, her mother stays with her grandmother [it's complicated]) who's very sick now, so it's not all too possible for me to just stay there. And I have some family in the area, but they aren't people I really want to stay with longer than maybe a night, if I really have to.

And right now, I'm up in Plattsburgh. It sucks and never come here.
