What's up with Secret Seasons?

Hey all, I've been trying to track down info about Secret Seasons and anything Snowdrift related but all the threads seem to stop at 2010. Their FB updates end with Mike talking about some health issues, anyone know what happened? :idk: I remember when the Snowdrift was coming around, everyone was psyched but it seems the hype has died down. Which sucks because even though I never owned one I thought the Snowdrift killed it in the demos. Now I've been looking at Fuzzhugger and their Snowflakes have been halted and no link to an SS page. If Mike is lurking around here I hope you get back to what you love real soon!

Snowdrift is from what I recall a fingerprint with an extra circuit...this is basically what resulted from Secret Seasons no longer existing.

I do remember there being talk of Snowdrift=Fingerprint, but now this begs the question...What about that extra circuit? I kind of wanted the Snowdrift almost exclusively for the extra one. And will Secret Seasons ever make a comeback?

I don't know about the extra circuit, but I don't think Secret Seasons is going to be coming back in the near future:

Mike hasn't posted in year. So, I think it's safe to assume that nothing's changed.

Wow. I actually managed to forget that I owned one of these.
Whoops.

Still the latest update as far as I know.

I don't think Mike visits ILF. He hasn't logged in since Feb 24, 2012.

Secret Seasons has been out-of-production since July 2011, and as far as I know, has been entirely inactive since January 2012 when I lost the rights to build them.

At no point have I even been asked to hand over the schematic, layout, or PCB files for the circuit...so unless he's going to have someone clone my PCB layout...? :idk:

The Snowdrift is a Fingerprint with a footswitchable fuzz in front of it. That fuzz was based on a stripped-down, non-oscillating AB-Synth (per Mike's request). So it's easily emulated.
Honestly, the Fuzzprint and its Print knob is far more effective imo, though it doesn't do that crazy wash of fuzz that the 2nd mode of the Snowdrift does, but stomp on the fuzz of your choice in front of it, and use that fuzz's Volume as a boost, and you're there and beyond.

That's interesting.

I used to have a Snowdrift and found it kind of limiting with both of the circuits on. I think I'd probably like the stand alone Fingerprint a lot better (or at least it'd probably be a lot more useable to me).

Very interesting. Thanks for the insight Tom. I've still got a Snowdrift which I dig. Has a voice that I don't really have in anything else. Plus the Laura Bennett paintjob.... Mama...
