Quadbucker and hidden switching questions

I recently bought a squier bullet that I absolutely love. Single humbucker, single volume knob. No frills, barebones kinda guitar. I really want to put a new pickup in it but I've never changed pickups before. I have little wiring experience but enough to start a project with guidance...me thinks. I want to know if 1. This is possible and 2. Should a noob even attempt this? It's my only guitar at the moment and I don't want it to be out of commission for more than 2 days.
I want to put two single coiled sized rail pickups in the slot so I can have a quadbucker. I'm thinking these -http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/seymour-duncan-shr-1-hot-rails-stacked-single-coil-pickup
I want to be able to select both pickups on, single bucker, and a split so I can have a single coil as well. Possible?
I also want to know if there's a push/pull knob that's also a 3-way selector. I don't want to do any cutting or routing. I want to keep it, one pickup slot, one knob.
Diagrams, links to parts, any help at all would be much appreciated. I rather do this myself instead of paying for someone to do it.

Also, pickup suggestions would be appreciated if you disagree with my choice. I want high output with out getting really muddy. I always play with dirt. And when I play clean, well I don't care how crisp it is.

First off, I doubt the route will be big enough for the two rail pickups with out some modification.
If it is or you don't mind a little chiseling, a push/pull knob will only be able to do two out of the three things you wanted unless you don't
want that knob to control volume at all.
If not having the knob control volume is an option, you could use the push/pull to toggle between both pickups/one pickup and when in the
one pickup position you could turn the knob to blend between two coils and a single coil. You could also just replace the volume knob with a
rotary knob set for three positions.
It's also possible that you may have enough room in the channel between the pickups and the knob to add a three way toggle and all you'd
have to do is drill a hole for it in the pickguard.
If I were you, I'd start by taking off the pickguard and seeing/getting measurements of the routing.

No volume is not an option, I use it like a tone knob with my main fuzzes. I figured as much, I did alot of research for a rotary knob that push/pulls. I was sure one existed. Settling for an addition knob to do like you mentioned might be a neat option.
Ill open her up tonight see what's up. Thanks!

Swapping out pickups is probably the easiest project for someone new to the game. MEC's point is good, though; it'll be a lot easier to just swap in another humbucker.

Why dont you look into the Kent Armstrong Motherbucker? Its the same idea but much cheaper than pulling the trigger on two pickups.

No probs, man. You're bound figure out the wiring layout you want with the schematics that come with it. It should point you in the right direction.

I did this with my tele for a while, almost exactly. However, what I did was have a 3-way switch to switch between either hot rails or both in series (which is pretty easy to do) with a 3-way switch. Doing three positions with a push-pull...I don't know of one that can do it, myself. You could certainly use a rotary switch and a volume pedal, though... Or use a second switch.

Maybe two small on-off-on switches, one for each humbucker. Then you can have "single coil-off-humbucker" on both humbucker sections of the pickup.
