Besides Portland, where is cool in Oregon?

There's a remote chance I could move out to Oregon with a job.....and I'm curious? Any Oregon-ites here?

I'm not from there, but I've visited. Basically the whole Willamette Valley heading south from Portland is pretty cool. Salem is ok, Eugene and Corvallis are cool college towns. And it has some motherfucking amazing wine.

well austinlandia would be more about making fun of people who try to be like people who are hip and cool, rather than people that are quirky for no reason and think they are.

As Moustache Bash suggested I'd say check out somewhere on the coast. If you're looking for fun outside of Portland you better like/get into hiking. I go to school in Eugene and there are some pretty cool venues and restaurants/bars but I can imagine it would get old pretty fast if I wasn't in school. There's nothing really that Portland doesn't offer. If I were you I'd consider somewhere on the North Coast. Close to Portland and if you're into it it's insanely gorgeous. Tillamook, Seaside, Astoria (although the Fratellis might be out of jail by now) are all pretty cool and no more than 90 minutes from Portland. Excellent camping, fishing, hiking and the dairy and booze are top notch.

From the perspective of someone with strong ties to Washington state, the answer is "Nowhere. Nowhere is cool in Oregon."
