So, I've been informed that my father has purchased me a pair of Beats by Dre headphones as one of my Christmas gifts. Anyone have any experience with these? Give me the rundown! (I probably won't see 'em till next week.)

Heavy, huge, a bit ridiculous (as in: you might get ridiculed) but the sound is awesome
if you like massive sound with a lot of bass but in a different way that with say... Koss Porta Pro, you're in for a treat

hah some dude at radioshack tried to get me to buy these for some odd reason (wasnt even looking at headphones)
he was all like "but its dr. dre! u cant fuck with him, he's the best"
so i was like "man dr. dre hasnt made a song in like 10 years"
he was like "....yea thats true *slunks away*"
ive heard they are good quality sounding headphones on the bass heavy side.
but then again, u can get $10 headphones that sound pretty damn good to me too for listening to toots...its all about comfort for me

My little sister has a set. I was not impressed in the slightest. Big, not that comfortable, and way too bassy. Not the good kind of bass, the kind that muddies music to the point you can't make out a lot of instruments.

Marketing marketing marketing.
But we have to admit, if there was a pair of Thurston Moore headphones we'd all be paying $300 apiece for them.

I had a pair of Thurston Moore headphones once, the left side only generated static.

Also, I've started getting adds for Beats by Dr. Dre headphones.

Great for listening cause of the artificial bass
Terrible for mixing cause of th artificial bass
They look cool
Cost way more than they should, but maketing teams are amazing

Thanks for the input. I was mainly just concerned with how they sound. As far as being ridiculed for wearing something, I'm too old to care anymore. haha

They are OK for listening to bass heavy music but no good for mixing.
You can get some
Audio Technicas that sound much better for less then half the price.
If possible, I'd exchange them for something like that and pocket the extra cash or get a store credit.
If not, ROCK DEM BEATS BY DRE SON!
