Rant of the week

What the hell is it with guys in their 60s who dress like my dad.
“I’m old” I have to go to AC or Vegas to see Michael Buble or Tony Bennett!
What the Fuck happened to the coolest generation of all time.
I wanted to be James Dean, one of “the Wild Ones”.
I wanted to be as cool as the Beach boys, the Four Seasons, the Beatles and Stones.
I wanted to be John Paul Jones.
I still do.
Pop culture is stealing from those who served.
Gitmo was only known and used by people who had actually been there.
Zero-dark-thirty is now being used by news media pukes and pot smoking draft dodging hippies who sleep until noon.
My Black leather jacket is too small now, I gotta get a new one.
Gotta spend the money to convert my Harley to electric start because it too hard to kick over any more and it hurts.

I grew up on a healthy diet of Doo-Wop. It did and still does....Rule.

i worry sometimes whether my typical band-shirts-and-cargo shorts presentation is appropriate for somebody who's almost 56. i can't do anything else, though, since i've been dressing like this for decades and have no interest in shirts with button-down collars.

Everybody changes, it's too bad that most people mellow out as they get older. My plan is dress increasingly stranger until the day I die. Hopefully in the future I can afford to hire a seamstress, or seamster, to sew me custom insansity that I can wear on a daily basis.

Dude, fuck it. You've done your own shit for 56 years no sense changing now. I have absolutely no time for people waiting for others to "grow up" or "act their age". That's bullshit and gets me angry. You want to do something, and it's from the heart, do it.
On the less angry side, I saw Gojira in Stockholm a few weeks ago and saw a bunch of dudes around 60 on the balcony headbangning. Made me super happy - there's my future

I'm sorry but Paul McCartney playing with 'Nirvana' is not a reunion show for Nirvana. It was for a good cause but let's leave it at that, lol.

oh, i'm far past the thing of trying to dress like Grandpa. i just worry that other people are going to judge me negatively. like that hasn't been happening all my life LOL.

sometimes i really enjoy being the guy who's obviously twenty years older than everybody else at the gig...MIDLIFE ROCKERS OK. i think the most fun version of this was when i went to see Supergrass, but then, Supergrass are fun to listen to at home by yourself.

I'm too cynical to change. I'll probably look the same until I have rheumatoid arthritis. Then it's slacks and suspenders with a button-up shirt only half done.
