Oh Boy, the Mini!!!!!

Hey everyone,
I started my "serious" board a year ago, and my main problem is (was!!!) the OD Quest...
I was lurking on the regular Fuuu but I wanted the momentary switch to be "not momentary".
I wasn't able to find a proper knob by knob demo but all the customers reviews were so good!!!!!
So I sold my Super Duper, had some cash, and said "man up, time has come to choose one overdrive"...and the Mini was just out.
I said, "fuck it, I don't know how it really sounds, I'm gasing on the fuuu for such a long time and the Mini have a bias knob, it can't be a bad choice"
And bim!!!!
The Mini is everything I was expecting!!!!!!!!
I bought it on a bet, feeling in my belly that it was the right thing to do because so much people said it's the best OD, so much people adore SS/BS...
Count me in know!!!
I don't know how the TAFM and the Super Puzzle sound but they will be on my board very very soon as well, for sure!!
And I know I will be thrilled...
This topic is only to spread my love and new adiction to SS/BS, my Mini (which stacked after my Fuzzy Lady makes it sound like a vintage ToneBender

) and to you, fellow ILFers to the face of the world.

Glad you dig the mini and went for it. I have the fuck and ya great but I may have to part to get the mini. For what it's worth there's a switch on the fuck that allows the momentary switch to be the 'sound' when pressed or the 'sound' always on and it cuts it.
I gotta check the mini out soon!

indeed! also, i can make them with a latching switch rather than the momentary - there are a handful of them out there.

Ahh, yes. Welcome to the SS/BS addiction. I remember my first pedal from Brian...
TAFM singlehandedly kicked off EVERY single other fuzz off of my board, including a Super Puzzle. Both units are lots of fun and sound incredible, though. I also suggest you check out the Year 4545 when it gets re-released as well, it's loads of fun and the most usable noise/drone pedal I've ever had the chance to get my hands on.
The TAFM is a massive beast, imagine a muff but with more balls: more low end more gain, and it cuts through in a band setting. Stacks incredibly well with the Mini, too - my bare-bones setup these days is a Mini into a TAFM into a delay/reverb, depending on how I'm feeling.
You’re either on team awesome… or you’re not.

Yeah the mini is so niiice! Lots of flavours of dirty goodness in there, even if I do leave mine on the same setting 90% of the time.

Hey,
I leave my Mini on the same settings 90% of the time as well...the possibility of a latching switch on the Fuck make me want it so bad!!!
Thank you Electrical for your intels on the fuzzes

I heard that a mini TAFM may comes out?
Should I have to wait for it or go for the big sister...hum...
I've seen a Super Puzzle demo made by Sylnau, I guess, and it charmed me...and the Hawk begins to fill my GAS up

I'm in super trouble!!!
The Year 4545 is a big question to me, your description makes me want it so bad too. On the SS/BS page I didn't really get what it really was, due to my lack of english vocabulary I guess

And Brian, I'm happy if my post pleased you...for sure, more will come with my future SS/BS purchases

!!!!!!!!!!!

Do what I did, keep the Fuck and save for the Mini too

One pre one post reverb / delay..
Or one on the main board and one on the smaller solo-show board..
Or one set for high gain howling and the other set for a little bit of cheeky breakup..

seriously guys this is the thing to do. the fuck and the mini are SO completely different and beautiful in their own ways. i got a mini in a trade and wasn't sure if i would be keeping it or not, but now it's my post verb fuzz and it's the best sound that i've ever gotten. the fuck od i use truly as a slight od and i swear i will never turn that pedal off.
the mini on keys is also really wonderful. here's a clip of it in action on a casiotone 401... the only distortion that you hear is from the mini.

For anyone who hasn't tried it, the mini is awesome on bass! Like, wow, it's so transparent, gets really nice pushed tube amp tones! Plus if things like that bore you it's a boss fuzz if you turn down the bias and crank the gain. I mainly jammed out crazy horse tunes without having to turn my amp up to 'seriously pissing off the family and neighbours' levels.

yeah that cranked, low-bias setting is cool too since you get the gaininess but it's just gated enough to be pretty noise-free. i dig!
let those talkbass-ers know!

haha yeah they should, I really do dig it for the cranked amp thing, it does a really good impersonation of my amp being turned up loud. That's talkbass-y, right? I don't really go on there so idk what they like, I've always assumed they're like TGP and love
transparent overdrives. But maybe they're all about dirty fuzz? Either way the mini should have them covered.

Talkbass loves the Tech 21 VT Bass and Darkglass B3K, but the Mini kills both of those.

My Buddy was over at my house and played my Tele 52 RI into the Mini into the Excelsior with Trem. I love that sound!
