Ok so I have a real cheap epiphone les paul special II and I've been trying to think of a bunch of cool upgrades and whatnot.

Then it hit me... MAKE IT A 12 STRING

So here's my question: Where would you guys recommend I get a 12 string neck?
and also, are there any possible obstacles/problems that I should watch out for? How do I avoid royally fucking up?

Not to shoot you down or anything, but, practically speaking, how much were you looking to spend on this project?

You not only need a new neck, but a bridge and/or tailpiece.

Might be cheaper to just get a cheap 12 string and do something else with the LP body.

Well that's sorta the reason to my question. I was basically wondering if there is anywhere i can get a cheap(ish) neck

I noticed GuitarFetish sells bolt on necks for $30-$50. No 12 string necks though. Is there anywhere else like that to get a 12 string neck or any "blank" necks that haven't had the head drilled/shaped yet?

I know USA Custom Guitars carries a Fender style 12 string neck.

It's not cheap and I don't know how well it would fit on your LP.

Hey how good a woodworker are you? you could maybe put RIC slots in the epi head...

I've done some woodworking. I can usually get things done if I have the proper tools.

But I don't know what RIC slots are ): please forgive me

Buy one of these, and tell me if it's good. I've been thinking about doing a cheap 12-string project of my own for a while. It's Fender scale though, so you might have to move the bridge, or alter the neck pocket.
