when i lived in San Francisco i got in the habit of never carrying change in my pockets because the beggars would target you if they heard the sound of what i used to call "bum bait."

I got me a little change dish.
Any ol' bowl, plate or cup'll do.
Mine's almost overflowing though. I guess I need a bigger one.
Every time you leave your house, take some with you.

Change is the worst. The only time I EVER use coins are when I have to do laundry. And even then only quarters.
Pennies, nickels, and dimes are futile.

I only ever use my debit card so I never have coins to deal with. Sooo much more convenient. Is this a bad practice for some reason that I'm not seeing due to minimal life experience?

I've got an actual piggy bank. Every time it fills up, it's like $60.
A few years ago, my grandpa had this bucket... filled with change. I'm pretty sure it was at least $500 when he turned it in. He'd been filling it up for years.

I keep a pepsi cup filled with loose change in the center console of my car. when I was a delivery driver, I would put all the change I got from tips in it and had $50 a month in change. and I could buy cheeseburgers with it when I was broke.
